My father worked on “cruise” ships around the British Isles when he was 12,

when cruise ships were transportation and not vacation. Started doing some Atlantic crossings and ended up in Chicago at age 14. Born and raised in Liverpool. My grandfather, great grandfather, etc, we’re all Merchant Marines. He then did 2 seasons on the St Lawrence Seaway and ended up in the US Navy approaching age 17. 😎👍🏻
